
Kevin Wilson was shot at the junction of Smithdown Road and Holmes Street, Liverpool
The fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in a Liverpool street was a targeted attack, police believe.
Kevin Wilson, originally from Scotland, was shot in the back at the junction of Smithdown Road and Holmes Street in Wavertree on Saturday.
Police called to the scene performed CPR until paramedics arrived to take him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Merseyside Police are continuing to hunt for the attacker.
Smithdown Road remains cordoned off, with house-to-house inquiries under way in the area. Police said cordons were expected to be in place for a number of days.

Police patrols have been increased in the area
A post-mortem examination will be carried out later.
Supt Jenny Sims said: "We would like to reassure the local community that we believe this was a targeted attack and that incidents of this nature are still rare.
"High visibility patrols have been increased in the area and officers will be speaking local residents to help reassure the local community."
