London elections: Targeting the voters of suburbia

Help

The difference between way people vote in inner and outer London could be a major factor in deciding the next mayor.

Local residents shared their views on politics and politicians.

Bromley and Chislehurst Labour Party chairwoman Betsy Johnstone said: "In this election every single vote counts."

Local government expert Professor Tony Travers of London School of Economics said: "If Labour concentrates very heavily on outer London, there's just a chance that in inner London Boris will do a bit better this time than last time and that might all balance each other out."

BBC London's political correspondent Karl Mercer has been to a bakery in Bromley, in an outer area of south London, to explain how voting varies in outer and inner areas.
