Lincoln Cathedral: At-risk status 'positive for investment'

The inclusion of Lincoln Cathedral on the organisation's at-risk register is an important step in raising awareness and support for the 900-year-old building, English Heritage has said.

Up to £13m needs to be raised by the cathedral over the next 10-years to pay for ongoing restoration work.

Last month, Great Tom, the main bell which strikes every hour, stopped working and parts of the handmade mechanism had to be sent away for repair.
