Lincoln's Priory Academy defends £1.9m French centre

School bosses have defended the facilities at a £60m academy in Lincoln, which include a planetarium and a £1.9m learning centre in France.

The Priory Federation of Academies was awarded a government grant of £50m in 2008 for new buildings at two academies in the city and various refurbishments, with Lincolnshire County Council providing a further £10m.

Critics argue that money is being shared by a small number of schools to the detriment of others.

The French centre is in an 18th Century house in Normandy.
