In 1986 the BBC asked a million people to create a digital snapshot of Britain by contributing to the Domesday Project.
The UK was divided into 3km x 4 km (1.8 miles x 2.4 miles) blocks that were surveyed by a school, WI group, scout troop or sometimes an enthusiastic individual. Between them they covered 9,000 blocks, approximately 75% of the UK populated land mass and generated 25,000 pictures and 150,000 articles.
Domesday Reloaded is a look back at some of the photos and words from those submissions 25 years ago.
