In pictures: Bristol Pride march
A rainy Saturday morning saw Bristol's colourful Pride parade set off from Berkeley Square. This year the march to College Green was led by Afro Brazilian Sambistas dancers and the city's first openly-gay lord mayor, Councillor Peter Main.
The march marks the end of Pride Week - a celebration of the lives and talents of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) community.
The procession snaked its way down Park Street towards College Green where the main event took place.
More than 40 acts were expected over five performance areas and two stages outside Bristol's council house.
"The event is the chance to show prejudice has no place in our city and that it is our diversity and communities that make Bristol and the South West great," organisers said.
Revellers did not let the heavy rain spoil their fun.
A number of "after parties" have been organised for Saturday night in Bristol.
Singer Martha Wash and performer Bright Light Bright Light are headline acts at the event.
