Birmingham Airport launches flights to Doha

Birmingham Airport is to get a new regular service to Doha, flown by Qatar Airways.

The airline will fly eight times a week to the capital which is one of the host cities of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The new route strengthens Birmingham's connections to Africa, Asia and other parts of the world.

Birmingham Airport's Chief Executive Paul Kehoe told BBC Midlands Today it was "another vote of confidence in the region".
