The former N-Dubz star Dappy has been remanded in custody over an alleged altercation outside his Hertfordshire home.
Costadinos Contostavlos, 29, of Hatfield, is accused of assault by beating and possession of a bladed article.
The rapper was arrested at about 16:30 BST on Wednesday.
Magistrates at Hatfield Remand Court refused to grant the former Celebrity Big Brother star bail.
He is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 9 June.
