Several times a year Yasir Abdulla leaves his wife and four children at home to fight against IS and defend nearby Kurdish villages where he grew up.

BBC Inside Out reporter Emma Glasbey talked to the Peshmerga fighter about life on the front line. She also discovered his remarkable video footage chronicling his experiences.

Inside Out is on BBC One Yorkshire and Lincolnshire on Monday, 7 September at 19:30 BST and nationwide on the iPlayer for 30 days thereafter.
