Caring dilemmas facing families as population ages

Help

The daughter of the oldest person in the UK said she felt guilty when her mother, now 111, finally went into care.

At the moment 142,000 people, or one in every 40, in the eastern region are more than 85 years old. Over the next 20 years that figure will go up to 366,000 - one in every 20.

That will put even more pressure on services and mean some difficult choices for many families.
