Adam Johnson jailed: Grooming 'devastated' his victim

Footballer Adam Johnson has been jailed for six years for grooming and sexual activity with a girl aged 15.

Sentencing the ex-Sunderland player, Judge Jonathan Rose told him he had abused a position of trust and caused his victim "severe psychological harm".

Outside the court, Gerry Wareham from the Crown Prosecution Service, said that everyone "should be clear that there was only one victim in this case and that is the 15-year-old girl that he sexually assaulted".
