Region Profile
The North East Scotland region has 10 constituencies within its boundaries. They include Aberdeen Central; Aberdeen Donside; Aberdeen South and North Kincardine; Aberdeenshire East; Aberdeenshire West; Angus North and Mearns; Angus South; Banffshire and Buchan Coast; Dundee City East and Dundee City West.
The North East Scotland region is one of the most environmentally and economically diverse areas of Scotland. The oil and gas industry make up a large part of the Aberdeen economy, while the computer games industry has found a stronghold in Dundee. The region is also home to the UK’s largest national park.
At the 2011 election Labour secured three seats, the Conservatives won two, the SNP received one and the Liberal Democrats were also allocated one.
