Laura Mvula says she hasn't been able to process her success over the last year.
"It's all gone so quickly that I haven't had a chance to let things sink in," the singer said after her Latitude festival set earlier this month.
Mvula was shortlisted for the Critics' Choice award at this year's Brit Awards and finished fourth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list.
She also performed on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury last month.
She said: "It [the Glastonbury show] still feels like something that would happen many years later than now."
Mvula, whose brother and sister play in her band, said that she had enjoyed her success but there were a few negatives that came with it.
"It's been an amazing rollercoaster," the 27-year-old said. "There are major highs and major lows but the highs have totally outweighed the lows.
"The lows are tiredness. A kind of exhaustion that's difficult to describe. I've travelled more in the last year than I have in my entire life put together."

Laura Mvula's debut album went to number nine in the UK album chart
The Green Garden singer also said she had a fear of flying, which was helped by listening to one of her music idols Jamie Cullum.
"I think I'm constantly facing fears, to be flexible, to have energy," she revealed.
The singer's debut album, Sing To The Moon, went to number nine on the Official Album Chart when it was released in March.
But Mvula said she didn't let success affect her.
"Pressure is definitely there but it's just finding ways of managing it," she admitted.
"If you have the right team around you that really genuinely care about you and your music then you're in a good place and I have that."
Mvula also said she was not thinking about new material yet and was choosing to focus on tours to America and the UK this year.
