More acts added to Reading and Leeds Festival line-ups

Nearly 70 groups have been added to the Reading and Leeds festival bills including AlunaGeorge, British Sea Power and Kate Nash.

The additions were announced by Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe with the event taking place between 23-25 August.

They join headliners Eminem, Green Day and Biffy Clyro as well as acts like Foals, Skrillex, Azealia Banks and BBC Sound Of 2013 winners Haim.

French band Phoenix will headline the NME/Radio 1 stage.

Two extra stages have been added this year.

There will be a BBC Radio 1 dance stage which will feature Sub Focus Live, Magnetic Man and Knife Party, Baauer, Iggy Azalea and Fenech-Soler and a BBC Radio 1Xtra stage, headlined by London grime collective Boy Better Know.

Last year 87,000 fans at Reading's Richfield Avenue site and 75,000 at Leeds' Bramham Park saw performances from headliners Foo Fighters, The Cure and Kasabian.

Other acts added on Thursday night include Tim Burgess, Dillon Francis, Lower Than Atlantis, Flux Pavillion, Funeral For A Friend, Gallows, Enter Shikari and Chvrches.

The bill this year also includes Harlem Shake star Baauer, UK band Bastille and dance act Chase & Status.

Already announced were Alex Clare, The Blackout, Editors, Imagine Dragons and Knife Party as well as The Lumineers, Magnetic Man, Tame Impala, Dillon Francis, Palma Violets and The 1975.
