Denise O’Brien said she discovered Jordan (pictured above) seriously injured outside her house in Scampton Way, Gainsborough on the evening of 27 March after being woken by his screams.

Mrs O’Brien told the jury at Lincoln Crown Court: “I was watching Coronation Street when I fell asleep.

“I woke up to screams. Horrible screams from outside.

“I ran to the back door. Jordan was coming towards me. He was screaming. He said Kieron Walker had just macheted him.

“When Jordan said his name I looked over and saw him (Walker) getting in the car. I shouted at Kieron Walker to get back. I was angry. He just got back in the car.

“I saw Kieron Walker’s face. I saw all of his face. I know what I saw. I’d probably seen him 10 or 15 times before.”

Mr Walker denies murdering Mr O'Brien.

Liam Toner, 19, went missing after a night out in Cleethorpes on December 16 in 2017.

He was dropped off by a taxi driver in Holton-Le-Clay in Lincolnshire, but was found dead the next evening in a ditch between Holton-Le-Clay and his home in Ulceby, around 20 miles away.

    rural crime initiative

It comes just weeks after Lincolnshire Police showcased their rural crime strategy at a farm near Lincoln (pictured).

The force says it's seen reports of hare coursing, an illegal sport involving dogs chasing hares, more than half since 2016.

But the National Farmers' Union (NFU) says they're still concerned about the theft of large farming machinery and trespassing on agricultural buildings.

Police say they've requested fuller access to farm land to help tackle crime.

    Quote Message

Granting Lincolnshire Police full unfettered access to our farms sends out a signal to the criminal fraternity that we are all watching and also it provides some comfort to those of us in remote locations that someone actually cares.”

The council had intended to replace its traditional fir tree with a plastic tree from China, saying it was better for the environment.

Following the meeting it was decided the town would have a real tree after a local grower offered to donate one in exchange for a contribution to charity.
