Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme is "Kenya" and we begin with an image taken by Tom Paveley, who said: "I'm not sure who was more surprised - us or the elephants. This cycle safari near Nanyuki took us closer than we had expected."

Neil Raja: "A group of women crossing the salt lake in Magadi, Kenya, to retrieve supplies for their village."

Bryndan Bedel: "This photo was taken at camp, in the heart of Maasai Mara, right at sunrise. A friend was enjoying a nice cup of coffee while enjoying the morning sounds of the wild."

Gavin Hogg: "I was in the Milgis Valley, northern Kenya, recording the tribal singing of the Samburu to raise funds for the charity that oversees the welfare of the people and their environment. It was World Environment Day and to celebrate we undertook a land art project, drawing the shape of an elephant in the dry river bed, and filling in the body with natural materials."

Caroline Smith: "This picture of a monkey and a hippo sharing their tea was taken at Haller Park, Mombasa - a former disused quarry that has been turned into a small private game sanctuary."

Gabrielle Valdez: "Fire the Maasai way"

Monika Kavipurapu: "Of all animals that I saw in Maasai Mara, the giant yet graceful elephants were the most impressive."

Kaajal N Raghvani: "The white sands, blue skies and clear waters of Nyali beach in Mombasa."

Michal Vogt: "Semi-traditionally dressed Masai family caught on the move at Amboseli Park in Kenya."

Marion Langham: "A Kenyan trying to earn his daily bread by exhibiting a tame lizard in a resort in Malindi."

Brent D Matthies: "Taken on a recent trip to the Maasai Mara in Kenya."

And finally a photo by Abi Goulding. Next week the theme is "exercise", and the deadline for your entries is 9 October. If you would like to enter, send your pictures to yourpics@bbc.co.uk. Further details and terms can be found by following the link below this gallery.
