In pictures: Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2012

The "most vibrant and essential" works by 29 of the UK's most promising art students and recent graduates have been chosen for this year's Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition. They include Flood Light Denim by Polly Read, who has previously been longlisted for the John Moores Painting Prize.

Suki Seokyeong Kang - We Are Sitting In The Polite Room

South Korea-born Suki Seokyeong Kang, who splits her time between Seoul and London, has undertaken an MA in painting at the Royal College of Art and her works include We Are Sitting In The Polite Room. The exhibition opens at the Copperas Hill Building in Liverpool from 15 September as part of the Liverpool Biennial.

Leeds-born Bryan Dooley, who has studied photography at the Royal College of Art, won the college's first AkzoNobel Photography Award last year. For his series Trak Star, Dooley spent six weeks photographing the New York University running team.

Freya Douglas-Morris - They Visited Twice 2012

Painter Freya Douglas-Morris, whose work They Visited Twice is pictured, created her landscapes after travelling to places including South America and Scandinavia. After being shown in Liverpool, the New Contemporaries exhibition will move to the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London from 27 November.

Jennifer Bailey - Danielle In The Studio (from New Girls)

Jennifer Bailey, from Kent, is at the Glasgow School of Art. This work, Danielle In The Studio (from New Girls), is a digital photograph printed on polyester.

Togo-born, London-based Evariste Maiga took an MA in fine art at Goldsmiths in London. His work Arditex features cans of the substance, which is used in flooring. Bloomberg New Contemporaries was open to all final year undergraduates and current postgraduates of fine art at UK colleges and those who graduated in 2011.
