Student protests: Your pictures
Thousands of demonstrators are surrounding the Houses of Parliament as MPs debate plans to raise tuition fees in England to £9,000 a year. BBC News website readers have been sending in their photos of the protests. Photo: Barry Goddard
Barry Goddard was on his lunch break and took this photo of protesters at Aldwych on The Strand.
Andrew Shuttleworth: "It's calmed down now into rhythmic chanting and pushing but it was tense earlier with lots of coppers in full riot gear."
Philip Gardner: "Flares are being set off, but the protest remains calm."
Philip Gardner: "Three sides of Parliament Square are now occupied by students. There is a heavy police presence and little appetite for a fight, but some protesters are moving into the square."
