A bogus council worker has asked "vulnerable" adults in Buckinghamshire to give personal financial details over the phone, a council has warned.
Trading Standards is investigating reports of calls from someone with very poor English who claims to be from Buckinghamshire County Council.
The calls may originate from a call centre abroad, the council said.
"Residents should never disclose any personal information to cold callers," a spokesman added.
