Ivor began his musical education playing the violin at the age of 3, and went on to become an outstanding boy treble at St Alban’s Cathedral. A music graduate from York University, Ivor was subsequently awarded scholarships to study singing and conducting at both the Royal Academy and the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Colin Metters and Sir Colin Davis.
Ivor has conducted a number of leading orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hanover Band and the City of London Sinfonia performing both orchestral and choral repertoire. He regularly performs at major London venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the South Bank, and has conducted at venues across Europe.
As well as being the founder and Music Director of New London Soloists Orchestra, Ivor also directs the New London Singers, and Barts Choir, one of the City of London’s largest cultural organisations. Ivor has also made several recordings with the New London Singers, including Rachmaninov Vespers, Frank Martin Mass for double choir and Requiems by Fauré and Duruflé.
In 2006 Ivor appeared in his own TV Documentary series on Channel Five, The Singing Estate which was short listed for the prestigious Rose D’Or Television Prize.
