12.08.08First student exits Maestro
In a tense showdown at the end of the first Episode, it was down to the BBC Concert Orchestra to decide who should remain in the competition: bass player Alex James or broadcaster Peter Snow.
The musicians voted in favour of Alex, which meant saying goodbye to Peter Snow at the end of Baton Camp.
Although he had given it his best shot, Peter didn't seem too surprised at the outcome. His mentor, Peter Stark, confided that he was 'rather difficult to teach'.
