Seen building one of his highly prized guitars in the first programme of the Imagine trilogy, The Story of the Guitar, Wayne is also a phenomenal player. As he points out, traditional "Old Time" country music up in the hills of South West Virginia has been transformed by the arrival of the fast-picking bluegrass style. But Wayne can beat them all in the local guitar contests.
