Joan Baez talks about the very early days of her career, starting out hanging around Harvard Square and singing at a club called Club 47 - and then her Newport Festival debut, when she was just 19 - they called her the Virgin Mary: "Who wouldn't go for Virgin Mary? I didn't have much of a self-image in high school so that sounded pretty good."
