Radiohead Soundcheck - Tuesday 1 April 2008

As It Happened

Read a behind the scenes report from Radiohead's soundcheck at the BBC Radio Theatre.


1.22pm: Thom is now sitting in the audience. Later today, unknown to them, two of his fans will get to sit in a seat once graced by the great man.


1.25pm: Various members of the band are milling around the Radio Theatre. Thom moves onto stage to check progress.


1.27pm: Thom has a quick lie down in front of the stage.


1.37pm: Radiohead are up and running - first track in soundcheck is Bodysnatchers from latest album In Rainbows.


1.39pm: Another take of Bodysnatchers, from the middle eight fact fans, to sort out some sound issues.


1.47pm: Another track from In Rainbows, slowing things down with the bittersweet All I Need, as soundcheck continues.


1.50pm: Time for a quick break and chance for the crew to perfect the sound before the matinee gig audience arrive.


2.03pm: More from In Rainbows with Thom back at the piano for Videotape.


2.08pm: The band work further on their performance of All I Need.


2.14pm: Tempo is upped as band go back to Hail To Thief for Myxomatosis.


2.22pm: Another Hail To The Thief track as soundcheck nears its end with The Gloaming. BBC presenter and fan Steve Lamacq takes a seat in audience..


2.28pm: Next up a brief take of Morning Bell, which originally appeared on Kid A.


2.29pm: Back to In Rainbows to soundcheck Nude.


2.33pm: This one's Optimistic...


2.35pm: Songs are coming thick and fast as In Rainbows' 15 Step is soundchecked.
