It is good that african acts are nominated for this years MOBO awards. One expects that the profiles of the nominated acts ought to have been published alongside their fellow international acts for equal and unbiased accessment of their potentials. Awards dedicated to music of black origin should be seen as giving full support to artistes from Africa, the root of black culture.

D'BANJ is the hottest act on the best african act nomination list. A visit to mohitsrecords will give a clear testimony of accolades that has been won recently by this obviously talented artiste, who in addition to the various awards have just been appointed a UN youth ambassador for peace. There is no doubts that, like a bang, D'banj is set to bang home more awards.

50 Cent has cancelled his performance of AYO Technology which he was to perform with Justin via video.. because he lost out to Kanye in the charts!Is there going to be a replacement or any more performances to be announced?Following 50 Cent's decision to dissapoint the crowds, he should definitely win nothing and i hope Kanye does win something!

Why does this event have to be called the MOBO awards (Music of black origin). I find this discriminatory towards other cultures that do not fall in to this grouping. Why can't it be a celebration of these music styles and have a different name that is broader and helps others not falling in to this grouping to relate to it. We don't have the MOWO's (Music of white origin) or the MOGo's (Music of gay origin) or even the MOCO's (Music of Christian origin. So why the MOBO's?!

I have listened to and seen the works of most of the nominated artistes for best african acts awards. I believe that Dbanj stands out as very promising and likely to win the award.
