The City of Washington Pipe Band traces its roots to the 1950s and the internationally renowned United States Air Force Pipe Band. Highlights from the past half century of national and international performance include collaborating with some of the world's most celebrated musicians for concerts and recordings, as well as winning the Grade Two World Championship in 1999. Currently, the band is one of only thirty Grade One pipe bands in the world, and one of only three in the United States.
