Absolutely brilliant. Loved Tinariwen and Kanda Bongo Man. Thank you BBC, shame these artists didn't get global exposure. Eden was the best!
Rebecca, Cornwall
What a great day...!! The artists were fantastic and the atmosphere electric.. Would have been nice if the African artists had better television coverage..!! Well done Eden.

Eden showed how diverse African music is. It was great to see and hear from Thomas Mapfumo. And anyone who missed it must watch the webcast of Kanda Bongo Man - and of course the dancers! About time we heard the real voices and hopes of Africa.

It was an amazing day. Brilliant music and wonderful atmosphere. I felt honoured to be a part of it. It is a shame more people did not get the opportunity to see these great performers.

I have never been to a more spectacular gig in my life! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been there. From the manic drumming of Thomas Mapfumo to the beautiful emotional tones of Geoffrey Oryema...from the mysterious Saharan daydream of Tinariwen to the the boundless energy and infectious tongue-twisting of the Daara J MCs - Africa Calling showed us what a truly diverse and musically rich land Africa is...all wrapped up in the lush tropical paradise of Eden! Thank you so much to all involved. Viva Eden, Viva Womad, Viva Africa!

It still gives me chills: that in a little town in northern California I could watch & listen as human beings made great & profound magic half the world away. Those great players, who made music with such passion & sincerity, made most of the rest of Live 8 seem stale & contrived. I feel indebted to all involved for creating such a magnificent & spellbound day.

A real flop. Hardly anyone really supporting the performers either. It seemed like an 'add on' and more of a publicity stunt for the Eden Project than anything else. Don't know if you noticed but all the rest of the concerts were labelled as 'Paris', 'Berlin', 'Philadelphia' etc. but the Eden Project must have insisted on having their name on the event. Why not 'Cornwall' or 'St Austell'?

The whole day was amazing, the bands were brilliant and there was a vibe amongst the crowd. It is a great shame that there was less coverage of eden than the others as the point of the concerts was to raise awareness of africa, which the acts did brilliantly, not just the suffering but the hope. It is a pity that this was not brought across by the other gigs as most were white, and many were more interested in the performances than the message which was being sent out, as it was in eden.

It was a great day - perfect location - perfect weather. When we heard & saw Nelson Mendela on the large screens, it was good that WE were able to feel part of the whole Live8 event. It was also good to have the Hyde Park event screened at Eden and we were delighted to catch the screening of Bob Geldof singing "I Don't Like Mondays", in between watching OUR Live acts.

This concert was what the whole day was about, forget your londons and u'r paris's and the rest of them this was the best by miles and then some. Bob geldof should be ashamed of himself for not puting at least a few of these guys on his commercial concert.

Tinariwen - the very very best - why weren't they on at Hyde Park?

The artists performing at the Eden Project embody the heart and soul of Africa. It is a travesty to see these amazing artists of the very continent this worldwide effort is for, being sidelined to a separate event! These artists should have been part of the effort in Hyde Park and also would have been better at educating the public of the real problems of Africa. The public need to hear of the issues of Africa from Africans themselves albeit with the collaboration of the more 'famous' western personalities. This would have had a greater impact not only on the public but also on the other non African performers, by genuinely educating them. The speeches seem orchestrated and rehearsed, from the perfomers. There need to be more people like Bob Geldof and Annie Lennox, who have been to Africa to see the problems for themselves and then talk about them.
Susan, Devizes, Wiltshire UK
Love the acts. This is the true spirit of Live 8. I have to agree with Damon Albarn and Peter Gabriel, I was suprised by the lack of black artists, considering its about Africa.

Outstanding!!! In Lima, Peru, watching global poverty become history at the Eden Project live via the BBC. Knowledge is power- let globalisation feed the global village.

it was brilliant just great

How *totally* brilliant that we're able to see this on the Interactive service. I had an awful thought this morning that all that would be available on television would be Hyde Park -- but how lovely to see and hear the Eden performances in a way that does them justice.
