"Thanks for making this the best Reading Festival ever!" screeches Billy Lunn before exploding into their final riff-laden stomper Rock N Roll Queen.
This is a band that's grown up with festivals. Having won the Unsigned Bands competition at Glastonbury in 2004, they went on to play Reading that year. They then played the NME/Radio 1 stage last year. And now they've been elevated to the main stage. They still only have an average age of 21.
They crack open the champagne bottle of sing-a-long indie rock hits such as Mary, Oh Yeah, Shake Shake and At 1AM, as well as play some hits they wrote "while on the road" in America.
It doesn't sound like they had a great time in the US. "Just been in America for two months, it's good to be back in front of people who can speak proper English," he sneers.
Later on he changes the lyrics to California to sing "California is not as good as Reading Festival."
They aptly qualify this statement with Billy briefly crowd surfing, delivering bottles of water to the crowd and elfish bassist Charlotte constantly high-kicking the air and shaking her auburn hair.
It's high-octane high jinks all the way - expect to see them higher up on the main stage next year.
