Sunday night's Pyramid Stage has never quite seen a headliner like Beyoncé. The former Destiny's Child singer watched from side of stage as husband Jay-Z blew Noel Gallagher and half of Pilton away with an extraordinary set three years ago, and returned in 2011 to take on Glasto for herself.
The Texan's stunning entrance confirmed that Knowles knows how to put on a show, and one of the biggest crowds the Pyramid stage has ever seen were delighted to be greeted by Sasha at her fiercest. This set, peppered with Prince and Kings Of Leon covers alongside the biggest hits of Beyoncé's career will be remembered long after the grass has re-sprouted on the fields of Worthy farm.

It's a pretty gobsmacking opening that leaves you wondering what she's going to do next...
NME 26 June
Along with the likes of Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Jessie J, Beyonce proved that - in terms of Glasto moments on the big stages at least - this was the year of pop.

Nice to see a superstar genuinely excited by a new experience. Can't happen to her very often if at all these days. Great show (I watched from the comfort of my sofa), and seems a genuinely nice person.

Ha Ha Ha could not stop laughing after watching Beyonce perform Zane Low looking really stuck for word and very uncomfortable while the other performer chatted on about how good it was.

Glastonbury is the new Las Vegas (Beyonce! oh dear)....very safe acts headlining and I thought it was all a bit lack lustre this year....unlike when I used to go and it was not that long ago. I can't think of one band that blew me away, I can take or leave U2, they have a big following and do a reasonable job, the set was OK but nothing to get too excited about. I do like Fleet Foxes but I don't think their set will go down in history as a memorable one...it was just OK. Saturday was not bad (apart from Coldplay....another safe act who were so borrrrrrring), I thought that Elbow were below par and not as good as their previous performances at Glasto, the Horrors were good though plus Battles (strange band). Laura Marling was probably the stand out set on Sunday plus Hurts who were surprisinlgy good. Finally I have never been able to understand the appeal of Mumford & Sons and Paolo Nutini, the later has made it fairly big and why this has happened is a complete mystery to me....maybe someone can enlighten me?

This is, without any doubt, the worsted Glastonbury I’ve ever seen. These ‘middle of the road’ performers will turn this once great festival into ‘Top of the Pops Live’. Having said that the mock-rock band (U2) on Friday were dire. The bass player and drummer looked like bored session musicians.
Get Jools Holland’s team to sort out the 2013 line up.
