Voices: Talking Salford
Jak is from Walkden in Salford and says his accent reflects where he comes from. He says changing the way he talks would be hard and his mates might not accept him if he does. But older people seem to change theirs depending who they are talking to.

im a uni student of english language, accent is all about identity. everyone should feel proud of who they are and where they are from, your accent is a reflection of yourself. im from salford but have lived in different areas so have a more diluted accent. but im still a proud salfordian. good work guys !!!!

Tony
Im born and bred in salford and have and am proud of my salford accent. Thing is, it isnt anything like the kids talk now. They sound like theyve had their tongues removed and if im honest........a bit simple

reita sheehy
I am also from Salford, most people talk properly, it is only the simple minded that you cannot understand and to be honest show themselves and Salford up......

Beatrice Latham
Great videos good to hear the old accents again, an ex pat living in Australia.

Mark
People over exaggerate the Salford accent - I was born and bred here and the dialect has become very lazy. This lad sounds more Manchester than Salford.

Amanda
I`m proudly from Salford - Born and Bred also. My nickname is Darky! I wanted to agree that ''the dialect has become very lazy'' Mark. I`m 20 and to be honest, I do talk the same as him (on the Vid) through a little lazyness when I speak. And I don`t think ppl are trying to over-exaggerate though, it just seems to come natrally when I`m babbling/chatting away with other people. But I think most of the younger Salford accents do need to talk a little more ''properly'' instead of all sloppy and making sound exargerrated! hehehee None of em bother me though. You talk how you feel right and we have our opions on everything. I`m proud of how we all sound anyway. No Problems! ~Darkness x

Harry
I'd say this was a fair reflection of the accent where he is from. Of course it isn't 100% pure Salfordian but the lad doesn't claim to be from either Pendleton, Claremont, Langworthy, Broughton, Weaste, Ordsall or Seedley does he!

shaz
loving the twang. check out innit the musical - true salford spirit.

ang
salford is the best the only reason people go on about it is cos they wanna be like us, innit.
