For the first of their compilation albums, they’ve gone all-out on the multinational music tour and invited some of their regular B-Music guests along for the ride. So not only do you get the wide selections of Dom and Andy, there are choices from the likes of David Holmes, Gruff Rhys and Bob Stanley.

Best of all, instead of this being a baffling collection of obscure tunes, each selection comes complete with an explanation of the song by the DJ who chose it.

That said, the tracks are fine enough to work without any notes. Even if you didn’t have Andy Votel telling us that Marta Kubisová is a leading light in Czech New Wave, her brilliant Tak Dej Se K Ruman A Projdem Suet would still be a rump-shaking rocker capable of spinning you round any dancefloor.

As with everything that B-Music do, Road Trip is an invitation to adventure, a challenge to challenge yourself and the music that you listen to every day.

While it may not have you rushing out to fill in the missing Polish pysch-rock section of your CD cabinet, it does allow you to confidently step into a world where genuine talent, rather than record sales, is the thing that matters.
