Still feeling the force

Forget galaxies far, far away, a small corner of Manchester is celebrating three decades of intergalactic civil war with the release of a new documentary about the impact of Star Wars.

Mancunian film makers Sky Wilson and Vin Kelly of 5 Heads Tall productions have decided to mark the 30th anniversary of the original movie’s release with an online film about how much the sci-fi epic changed films and fans forever.

The pair are no strangers to the subject. Self-confessed Star Wars buffs, they were responsible for producing the highly successful George And Me, a look into the Star Wars fan phenomenon and the growth of self-made fan-films.

As Sky herself puts it, "with us being such big fans ourselves, we couldn't let the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of the saga go by, so we have decided to make a short documentary about the films."
