Is there a deadline for applications?

The deadline for applications is Friday 18th May 2007

What happens after I apply?

Applications will be shortlisted by a panel including:

Tom Baker from Eat Your Own Ears (curator of the Unknown Pleasures series), Chris Long (Broadcast Journalist, BBC Manchester), Natalie Williams (BBC Manchester Music) and Tracey Low (Producer, Manchester International Festival).

We will be selecting bands to play alongside headliners at Manchester Academy and may contact you for further details if we like what we’ve heard.

We will also shortlist up to five bands for Unknown Pleasures At The Quays. These bands and their tracks will be featured on the BBC Manchester website and the public will be able to vote for their favourite who will win the chance to play at Unknown Pleasures At The Quays on the Sunday 15 July.

Shortlisted bands will have to sign an agreement for the BBC/MIF to use their material online as part of the competition.

Competition winners will be chosen by early June and announced in local press and on the BBC Manchester and MIF websites.
