From New York to new tour

Having sold-out a recent intimate acoustic tour that took in the Royal Northern College of Music, Stephen Fretwell is going back on the road for a 15 date full band tour in May.

Fretwell will be playing some old favourites alongside songs from his new album, the follow-up to his acclaimed gold-selling debut, Magpie.

The new, as yet untitled album was recorded recently in New York with producer Eli Janney and is due to be released in the next few months.

New songs The Ground Beneath Her Feet and William Shatner’s Dog were among those given their first live airing on the recent acoustic dates – a sneak preview of the album to come.

The tour, which opens in Birmingham on Sunday 6 May, comes to the Dancehouse in Manchester on Wednesday 23 May. Tickets are £10.
