Many music fans consider Oasis' best rock 'n' roll years behind them, but readers of Q music magazine are not the sort to Look Back in Anger. | | Award: Noel Gallagher |
The quintessentially Mancunian guitar band were voted 'Best Act in the World Today' ahead of Muse, Coldplay, U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Noel Gallagher also collected the classic songwriter award. Q Editor Paul Rees said: "Oasis and U2 have remained perennially popular with Q and its readers. In handing out four awards between them, Q magazine and its readers have once again re-stated the high regard in which we hold them both." It's a good time for the Burnage boys: Oasis are also set to be honoured at the 2007 Brit Awards next year with an award for Outstanding Contribution To Music. In 2005, The Guinness Book of World Records declared Oasis the Most Successful Act of the Last Decade in the UK, having sold more than 50 million records worldwide. VoteWhat do you think of Oasis?
