Burlesque in Bethnal Green "Burlesque" started out life in nineteenth century music halls, where a variety of acts, everything from dancing girls to comedians and mime artists, all satirical and with a saucy edge, perform for the crowds. In this short film Geoffrey Odds takes us into the world of the Bethnal Green Working Men's club to meet Miss Polly Cup Cake, the hostess of the monthly soirée "Hip Hip". It's all about wannabe burlesque artists strutting their stuff and trying out their new routines on their East End audience...enjoy!
