See all your messages of support and goodwill below... It's an amazing sight - night-time London and a large pink tent in Hyde Park holds sway to teams of volunteers and helpers amid the noise and clamour that attends any large-scale social event. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites ![]() Thousands of women do the walk each year Outside in the streets is another vivid spectacle - a lycra-clad, trainer-shod army of women (and men too) of all ages, shapes and sizes, some bearing wigs, whistles and balloons, each in an eye-catching decorated bra (yes, the men as well!), and each with a similar goal in mind. This is the Playtex MoonWalk - and the prospect for these participants over the midnight hours is to walk, or more specifically, power-walk, a distance of 26.2 miles, or half that in the shorter 'Moon'. And the decorated bras will prove another point for millions of pounds will be raised overnight for breast cancer causes. Last year was a celebration of the event's 10-year history and it saw over 15,000 walkers turn out in support. Kirstine's story is typical: "It's difficult to express in words how it felt to cross the finishing line with the team that I'd been training with since January 2007 - we will always be united by this truly amazing event and inspired by some of the unsung heroines and heroes. Thank you - I'll never forget!" And then there's Debs: ![]() Celebrities are keen supporters of the event "I asked the medal presenters to give mine to Fiona - she'd been there with me, all night in spirit. Fiona didn't want it - but she got it anyway - I think she forgets chemo takes 6 visits at over 8 hours a time, you feel sick for days afterwards..." While registration is now closed for this year's MoonWalk, set for Saturday 17 May, organisers Walk the Walk are looking for volunteers to help on the night. And there's another way you've been getting involved. Simply by posting a message of support and goodwill to a team-mate or someone you know who's taking part, either in front of or behind-the-scenes.
