It was one of the first shows to come live from the BBC's new studios there. To celebrate, Robert devoted the whole show to East London...Guests included the Brick Lane Boogie boys, who performed live in the cafe, Gilda O'neill, who's written the definitive biography of the East End, and Gavin Fernandes, who's exhibition Monarchs of the East End is on display at the Rich Mix centre.

Lots of listeners turned up too and had their say about the music or the local area. As Robert himself said, even though he's not from the East End himself, you always feel welcome there.

It's one of many shows planned to come from the Rich Mix centre so feel free to come along to the next one.

Don't forget to tune in to the Robert Elms show every weekday from 12midday to 3pm on BBC London 94.9fm.
