Tree damages car in high winds

Wind causes travel disruption

An update on how the high winds across the capital are affecting travel and transport

Trains

***NEW***KING'S CROSS station now closed because of high winds affecting FIRST CAPITAL CONNECT, GNER and HULL TRAINS. Tube still stopping.

LONDON BRIDGE train and bus station closed because of roof damage. Tube still stopping.

Severe disruption for mainline services out of PADDINGTON, MARYLEBONE, EUSTON, KINGS CROSS, LIVERPOOL STREET and LONDON BRIDGE

Passengers advised not to travel with FIRST CAPITAL CONNECT, after trees blew over at Kentish Town, New Barnet and Huntingdon.

Problems are down to a combination of fallen trees, damaged power lines and station roof damage.

Tube

There are part-suspensions on 6 out of 12 Underground lines (BAKERLOO, CENTRAL, CIRCLE, METROPOLITAN, NORTHERN, PICCADILLY)
with severe delays on a further 2 lines. The Docklands Light Railway and Tramlink both have suspensions.

Roads

There are several closures on the M25 in Kent and Essex because of overturned lorries. The Dartford Bridge is closed because of high winds.

There have been fallen trees and dangerous structures reported closing major roads across London, including the North Circular Road, the Archway Gyratory and the Hammersmith one-way system.
