Rainhill High School

Going Up

We look at why moving up to secondary sc hool is nothing to fear.

This September year six students everywhere will make the move up to secondary school from primary school.

Schools often make the move easier for eleven year olds by showing them their new school early.

Rainhill High School student Harvey said

“It was easy, they showed us the ropes while we were still in year six.”

The school Head Of Year and the Head Boy and Head Girl visit primary schools to reassure them of a warm welcome when making this important move.

Rainhill High's Head Of Year 7 Mr Shilcock said

“Here at Rainhill High School we try to ensure that all of our new year sevens feel welcome and safe.

"In my experience every one that I've known has and is happy at our school. Throughout the school year, planning and meetings take place to cement the fact that all year sevens have a brilliant time in their new secondary school."

So if you're making the jump to secondary school this year just keep organised and do your work and you'll be fine.
