Caistor Grammar School: Radio Club

With help from a BBC Broadcast Journalist children from the Caistor Grammar School are learning all they need to know to produce, present and broadcast online their very own radio station.

The Caistor Grammar School radio club is made up with fledgling radio presenters, news and sport journalists, technicians and producers. To say they are not eager to get creating a radio program would be an understatement.

So far the club has learnt the importance of balance, impartiality and working within the law when broadcasting. They have also read and recorded a BBC News bulletin and were set the task of writing a 30 second informative piece on a subject they had no knowledge or interest in. With surprising results!

Have a listen to some of their first recordings below about diverse subjects such as bricklaying, cheese and lipstick. As their training progresses so do the variety of the topics they cover as can be heard below.

Keep checking back here for regular updates.

This is a partnership project between CfBT Lincolnshire School Improvement Service and BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
