But will it be the one that gets your vote? Gobberbonk is ready for bed. He has brushed his teeth so now his canines shine in the moonlight and he’s washed his head three times. He has squeezed out his last wee and switched on his night light. ‘I’VE LOST MY GEEK! I’VE LOST MY GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!’ ‘Well go and look for it then’, replies the rumbling voice of Gobberbonk’s mum, ‘and while you’re at it try and find your sister as well.’ Gobberbonk puts down his blankies and starts the search for geek. In the big bedroom he looks into the laundry basket and crawls under the bed to find a strange hat with a bell on the top and a large footprint but geek isn’t there. He forages in the bookcase and under the rug in his sister’s room. He discovers a postcard and a trap door but geek isn’t there. He peers into a bed and into a dark corner in his brother’s room to reveal a sleeping boy and a large stuffed penguin but geek isn’t there. He hunts under cushions and around his mother and he finds Lemon P. (his sister) and various crumbs but geek isn’t there. Finally his mother goes out and looks in the car, she checks on the washing line, and peeks in the bin but all she finds are the keys to the shed, odd the sock and something sticky in a brown paper bag. Geek isn’t there. He isn’t anywhere. Gobberbonk is very sad. His mother gives him a big hug. Gobberbonk picks up his old green blanky then scrumples his purple blanky up under his arm and pulls back his soft red blanky on his bed to see… Geek fast asleep on his pillow, which is exactly where any geek should be. last updated: 13/06/2008 at 16:50 SEE ALSOYou are in: Lincolnshire > RaW > Gobberbonk has lost his Geek |
