| | Cowboys and farmhands of any age who are prepared to cross the border are wanted by a Burton-on-Trent amateur theatre group. |
 | | | A Burton-on-Trent amateur theatre group is staging Oklahoma! in November 2004 and is keen to hear from men of all ages who would like to be involved as cowboys and farmhands.
Elaine Pritchard of The New Era Light Opera Group says, "We already have a number of members who travel to rehearsals from Coalville and other parts of North West Leicestershire.
"New Era is a very friendly and welcoming company and we are sure you will have a great time. If you do have previous experience you may even be in time to snap up one of the principal parts", she adds.
Oklahoma! was the first collaboration between Rodgers and Hammerstein - the legendary team who went on to create Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music
Famously, the show opens with 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'' and contains wonderful songs such as 'The Surry with The Fringe on Top', 'People Will Say We're in Love', 'Many a New Day', 'I Can't Say No', and the final rousing chorus of 'Oklahoma!'
So if you are red-blooded Leicestershire male and you 'Can't Say No' contact the group for the details of the auditions.
