University of Leicester Theatre (LUT), is run by students, for students and attempts to counter the stereotypical image of drunken, lazy layabouts.
In recent years LUT has gone from strength to strength, achieving international success at the Shakespeare Youth 2000 festival in Vilnius, Lithuania and at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2001.
Following the success of Cows:The Musical two years ago, the chance to take another original production to Edinburgh was too tempting to resist. How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My Toys, written by University of Leicester graduate Steve Rodgers, receives its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The actors from LUT will travel to Edinburgh for the fringe on 09 to 15 August so keep your eye out on BBC Leicester for coverage of their trip! |
