FACTS

Less than 1% out of the hundreds of millions of people who begin a nutritional and exercise program to attain weight loss or burn fat tissue ever achieve their goals

The benefits of a healthy diet begin in childhood, and can do much to reduce the risk of premature death or disability later in life. However, taking steps to improve diet at any time can make significant changes to your long-term health

Thursday 29 April 2004

Hi everyone, since my last entry I have been a very busy girl.

I have continued to measure my body, and have been delighted to see that I have lost several inches from my waist and hips. This has really boosted my confidence and even though I have not lost any weight on the scales, I am clearly doing something right.

I have continued with swimming, walking and would you believe I actually got on a bike for the first time in 12 years. I was very shaky to start with and could not cycle in a straight line. Looking back I must have looked really funny. I was out of breath for the first few minutes, with bright red face and dry mouth but this soon passed as the wind blew through my locks and cooled me down.

The other amusing thing was I had completely forgotten how to change gears, hubby was not impressed at this point and quickly showed me how to do it, so that we could press on with the task in hand. Luckily I managed to do it and off we set.

We had a great time and I would definitely get on a bike again in the very near future and I was very surprised that I only ached a little bit the morning after.

I am feeling so much better about myself now and do have loads more energy now that I am exercising.

I have also found a fellow diet buddy at work, which is great. She is following a different diet, but it is great to have someone to talk to about how I feel and share our experiences.

I am so pleased we have a long bank holiday weekend ahead of us. It will be great to have a couple of days chilling out and not worrying about work. I hope the weather gets better so that I can get outside and do some more exercise.

Have a great bank holiday everyone and keep up the good work fellow dieters!
