Audio and Video links on this page require Realplayer ![]() The Pigeon Detectives The band had only just arrived at Summer Sundae but had caught bits of other bands sets from backstage: "It's all been quite mellow so will be interesting to see how we go down!" They're set to do a few festivals this year and are generally positive about the whole experience: "You get to put your music to people who wouldn't ordinary listen to you. It's the best way to pick up a bigger fan-base." Cherry GhostBridget caught a few words with Cherry Ghost's lead singer Simon Aldred after their set... Audio and Video links on this page require Realplayer ![]() Cherry Ghost There has been a lot of excited buzz around Cherry Ghost for the last few months, but Simon feels it is more important to focus on the music than the charts and rave reviews: "I don't really put too much importance on numbers, but at the same time it keeps the record companies happy. "I'm oblivious to it all, which is kind of a good thing I think because you can kind of get caught up in the romance of it all and then turn into a complete fool!" Duke SpecialBridget grabbed Duke Special's main man, Peter Wilson, for a few wise words... Audio and Video links on this page require Realplayer ![]() James Chapman: Maps The Mercury Prize nominated Maps in recorded format is a one-man-band who is dedicated to his music: "A lot of people say 'What give you motivation?'. I don't really think about it because I just love it so much." After practicing his tunes in his bedroom for so long, the first time James took to the stage he was petrified. Now he'd never go back: "There's no better feeling than getting a great response because the crowd is really into what you're doing!" Sophie was also looking forward to finally having all eyes on her after supporting husband Richard Jones at festivals earlier in the year: "It's quite nice to come to a festival that isn't for The Feeling - it's for me which is a bit of a switch around!" Despite having played hundreds of gigs across the world the band still get excited about each set they play: "There is that nervousness that starts as soon as you wake up and it carries on all throughout the day until you kind of explode on stage and get on with it. "Then you're on a bit of a come down after it and you have to go and get drunk.
