BlastYou are in: Leicester > Blast > Me, myself and I! ![]() Me, myself and I!By Sejal Sharma, Blast reporter This is where you will get to know more about Miss Sejal Sharma, this year's BBC Blast arts reporter for Leicester. Let's dig deeper to see what makes Sejal the 'Louis Lane' reporter that she is! Well hellloooo there everyone. You are tuned into Miss Sejal Sharma's page! (That's me!) I'm going to tell you all about myself! So fasten your seatbelts because I'm about to take you all to MY WORLD and to visit all the "islands" that make me who I am! Bollywood IslandI love the glamour, glitz, colour and charm of Bollywood dancing.
Since a young age I had always admired the beautiful elegant Indian forms of Dancing that I used to watch the Bollywood actresses perform in films! So I started copying dance from film and gradually became more confident and discovered a hidden talent. I was soon on stage and also performing at events. Over the years I have been a key member of three dance academies in Leicester and have toured around the country performing at many large events. In 2004 I entered the auditions for an international dance competition in Leicester and I managed to spin through with confidence to the finals which were televised all over the world on Sony Entertainment Television. I was also selected as a background dancer for an Indian pop video few months back which was then aired on music channels on TV. Also back in 2003 I was selected out of 150 people to be a background dancer for a dance in a Tamil film that was shot in Leicester at Abbey Park. As you can see I love dancing and this is only small taste of my achievements so far but it's also only the start! ![]() Sejal's great love! Chocolate IslandI love my cocopops! I have to have that cereal every morning to boost my energy up for the whole day! It is the best cereal in the whole wide world! No one can beat me at eating Chocolate Gateau Cake! Mmmmmm... eating that as a desert every night makes me feel like I am in chocolate heaven! As you can see I am a total chocoholic! Cinema IslandLet's go to my drive in movie theatre and see what films I like... Firstly my favourite romantic film has to be Pretty Woman! I think Rush Hour Three has to be the best film I have seen this year so far but I am still waiting to see Bourne Ultimatum! Saw Three has to be at the top of my list under the horror film list! It was just too gory! Oh I cannot forget Shrek Three as the best carton this year. Comedy IslandI love entertaining people and making my friends and family laugh. ![]() Sejal: At one with nature! Two years back I was spotted at a local talent show and was offered the lead role for an Indian production called Gujarati Comedy. It's been three years since I have been in this production and we have toured throughout the UK and so far it's been a great experience! It also gave me recognition by becoming a recognised drama artist for the Leicester Haymarket Theatre and we also won an award as part of the comedy festival! So next time you see me don't forget to have some good jokes ready! Broadcast IslandI have been exposed to media and television throughout the past few years. I have been on work experience for two local radio stations in Leicester called Sabras Radio and Takeover radio station. Oh make it three stations as I cannot forget BBC Radio Leicester. This year I was also successful in securing a place at the popular TVYP media workshops at the prestigious BAFTA venue in Piccadily, London. I met lots of talented young people and we shared experiences and talked about future media career aspirations. ![]() Sejal in the BBC Leicester studios I also got to learn how to use the camera skills, interviewing skills, writing for the newspapers, presenting skills and much more! I have got to say that the highlight of my media career has been getting chosen to be Leicester's BBC Blast reporter! What more could I ask for! I definitely had the potential to become the next Louis Lane as I landed (with Superman) in the Leicester BBC Open Centre! The Core of My WorldQuite simple... I'm very girly, bubbly, friendly, a good listener, outgoing, committed and confident, dynamic and enthusiastic in the things I am interested in. I have a true passion for acting and dancing. I love shopping! I've got a big heart with a place for all of the people that mean a lot to me. I love meeting people and experiencing new places so if you find me at the BBC don't forget to come and say hi, and don't forget to bring some chocolate! last updated: 22/08/07 [an error occurred while processing this directive] |
