Look Good This SummerYou are in: Leicester > Local Radio > Look Good This Summer > Weight Profile: Rupal ![]() Weight Profile: RupalBy Rupal Rajani, Presenter Rupal's been caught up in a vicious circle! Health problems, a lack of confidence and lack of motivation have all affected her weight. So she's bravely agreed to be a part of our take part in BBC Radio Leicester's weight loss programme... Over the years BBC Radio Leicester's Lunchtime Presenter, Rupal Rajani, has been struggling with her weight. She's been unable to undertake any strenuous exercise because of her long-standing back injury, but now she's ready to get active again.
Rupal Opens Up!I've always been big! Ever since I can remember I've always been aware of my size and in case I forget, others are quite happy to remind me. Instead of being able to change myself I've turned to food for comfort! As far as body confidence goes, I try and hide my body with baggy clothes and wear darker colours. I walk around hoping no-one will notice just how big I am and let me be! When it comes to going out, I'll find any excuse to get out of going to an event that involves getting dressed up, because I always feel that people will laugh. Getting into shapeA few years ago, my best friend and I decided she was going to help me loose weight and get into shape. I managed to lose around three stone and felt fantastic! I was exercising, eating healthy and feeling really good about myself! I could wear the clothes I wanted and felt my confidence grow and grow! I could look at photos of myself and feel proud. I could go out and enjoy wearing clothes I've always wanted to... ![]() Rupal's not too keen on fruit! Get your back into it!Over recent years my back has caused me a lot of problems and stopped me from doing a lot of things I want. I have really struggled with serious pain. Now I'm unsure of the types of exercises that are suitable for my particular circumstances. It's affected all areas of my life! Working on the radio car meant I couldn't eat at the same time everyday, so I would end up eating junk food whilst driving from one story to the next and not eating for sometimes eight hours at all! I'm hoping some personal advice for my health situation, my working patterns, and being a vegetarian who doesn't like vegetables will help! More than anything I think I need help with motivation, reassurance and support! Ideally I would love to lose three stones, so let's see! last updated: 18/07/07 SEE ALSOYou are in: Leicester > Local Radio > Look Good This Summer > Weight Profile: Rupal |
