They play in different divisions and in four different age groups: Under 7s, Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 10s. The matches are exciting and competitive, and the BBC Leicester website carries the latest results so you can always find out how your team is doing. BBC Radio Leicester's Bridget Blair went to meet one of the Junior Football teams, Fleckney Athletic, and she'll be keeping a close eye on their progress throughout the season…Fleckney Athletic were languishing in the fifth division only two seasons ago, but now they're up in the top division.  | | Fleckney Athletic on the defence |
The team says that their new position means that they have to work a lot harder, and playing the county champions is particularly difficult. They've been together for nearly three years as a team, and most of the boys are good friends, although apparently there is the odd fight in the playground! Fleckney Athletic’s coaches are called Craig and Ady, and according to the boys, they give good advice and encouragement to all of the team.  | | Fleckney Athletic celebrate a win |
The boys aren't so fond of what their parents have to say though… Apparently they are good supporters but their mums 'ooo' and 'ahh' too loudly, and their dads shout comments that suggest they think they should be on the pitch instead!
