Indiependance, a weekly indie night, has been developed to fill a gap in Leicester between the live music scene and DJ-based club events.
The night offers a selection of current indie and classic anthems and is presented by some of the scene's most influential artists.
The night consists of three Leicester Square floors playing different styles of music varying from week to week and a live band floor. The music on the main floor will be presented by members of classic indie bands on rotation including The Farm, Inspiral Carpets, The Smiths and the Happy Mondays! | | Music from when shaggy hair was in fashion rules here! |
The middle floor is an alternative chill out room with a mix of punk, skate & ska and classic hip hop while enjoying a game of pool or just chilling. The first and third Fridays of the month on the ground floor sees a mixture of punk & skate followed by hip hop, jungle and drum & bass. The second and fourth Fridays of the month is devoted to Leicesters live music scene. The room will be hosted on the second Friday by Hunter & Brown presenting the best bands from the Midlands.
The night opens at the newly refurbished Leicester Square on July 16 - an 1100 people capacity venue on Belgrave Gate in Leicester.
